<p>PURPOSE: To eliminate deterioration in mechanical properties, particularly bending strength or fracture strength by durably adhering a UV-absorber-containing polymethacrylate layer covering a polycarbonate plastic on a polycarbonate- containing plastic molding to be protected. CONSTITUTION: A polymethacrylate plastic layer containing a UV-absorber or UV-absorbing group of 0.01 to 50 wt.% is a two-phase mixed polymer, which contains (A) 10 to 90 wt.% of a polymer (p) which may be crosslinked in the case of a glass transition temperature of Tg<10 deg.C and (B) (b1) 99.9 to 5 wt.% of a methylmethacrylate unit, or particularly 95 to 20 wt.% and in some cases further another-unsaturated monomer unit of 0 to 40 wt.% and (b2) 0 to 50 wt.% of a polymerizable UV-absorber and 90 to 10 wt.% of a methylmethacrylate copolymer covalent bonded to at least partly the A with a glass transition temperature of Tg>=30 deg.C. In this case, the copolymer (B) has a molecular weight Mw>=30000, and an arbitrary mixture of the copolymer (B) is compatible and has a lower limit pseudo-separation temperature (LCST) >=120 deg.C.</p> |
