The invention relates to a method of detecting the presence of a sinusoidal signal with a frequency f in a sampled electric signal with the sampling frequency fs. If the ratio fs/2f is an integer nk, the method is characterized by (a) detecting the sign of each sample to form a sign sequence, (b) testing after each sign change in the sign sequence of whether exactly nk on consecutive samples has the same sign, and (c) approval of the electric signal as a sinusoidal signal with the frequency f only if the condition in stage (b) is satisfied. <IMAGE> |
