PURPOSE:To prevent a shock in speed change time with a lockup clutch placed in a slip connection condition by detecting speed change action and an input/ output element speed of a torque converter and performing a control in a direction of increasing a speed difference in a period after almost equal speed time to speed change action ending time. CONSTITUTION:A speed change detecting means of a torque converter, having a lockup clutch enabling an input/output element to be placed in a slip connection condition, and a speed detecting means of the input/output element are provided, and the lockup clutch is controlled in a hydraulic control means by a pressure oil supply means. Here the pressure oil supply means supplies pressure operating oil so as to increase a difference between speeds of both the input and output elements in a period after detecting the speed of the input and output elements to be almost equal to the point of time after speed change action ending time. Accordingly, acceleration running performance can be improved by preventing a shock by an undesired torque change after ending speed change action. |
