Distributor for the distribution of seeds in particular by means of a dispensing system, from which the seeds being dispensed are supplied uniformly via seed coulters connected to seed lines, the seed supply to individual seed coulters being interruptible. In order to improve the distributor of the relevant generic type in such a way that the same quantity of seeds in relation to the working width of the distributor is always deposited in the ground, the seed supply to individual seed coulters (5') is interrupted by diverting the material dispensed to these seed coulters (5') through coulters (5") adjacent to the "cut-off" seed coulters (5').
