<p>PURPOSE:To remove a major portion of NOX in waste gas by allowing the gas to contact with aq. ClO2 soln. having high oxidizing power for NO in a first stage, to convert NOX to NO2 then washing the gas with aq. Na2S in a second stage. CONSTITUTION:Aq. ClO2 to be used in a first stage has preferably 5000-10000ppm available chlorine and pH5-8, and aq. Na2S to be used in a second stage has preferably 0.1-0.5% concn., -500--1000mV oxidation-reduction potential, and pH10-14. The treating apparatus is washed with washing liquid circulated with each circulation pump and sprayed from the top of a washing tower. Thus, waste gas contg. NOX, particularly, rich in NO, is treated effectively.</p> |
