PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having water absorption properties and fast drying properties and hardly wears out or deforms of shape comprising synthetic fiber in which hydrophilic vinyl monomer is subjected to graft polymerization. CONSTITUTION:The aimed fiber is composed of synthetic fiber (preferably nylon) in which hydrophilic vinyl monomer [e.g. (meth)acrylic acid, maleic acid, (meth)acrylamide, N-vinylpyrrolidone or vinyl sulfonic acid] is subjected to graft polymerization. Besides, the graft polymerization may be performed by forming radical as initiation point of graft polymerization using e.g. radiation or low-temperature plasma, then affecting monomer capable of performing radical polymerization. |
