The focussing mechanism is for a light unit comprising several individual lamps connected to a common housing in which the unit is accommodated. The tilting lamps are coupled by levers and sliding adjusting rods. A spring acting on the housing presses the lever of each lamp against the free end of the adjusting rod, which moves axially in guides. The other end of the rod screws into a bush, on which is a bevel gear meshing with another motordriven or hand- operated gear (21).
