A fluid compsn. as a tractant contains a cis-o-tercyclohexyl cpd. and trans-o-tercyclohexyl cpd. in wt. ratio 25:75-65:35. The cis-isomer has 5 or less (1-3C) alkyl substits, and is obtd. by hydrogenation of an o-terphenyl cpd. at 200 deg. C or less using a ruthenium-carbon catalyst. The trans-isomer is obtd. by hydrogentation of o-terphenyl cpd. at 200 deg.C or more using a nickeldiatomaceous eart catalyst.
