<p>An insulated conductor is useful, for example, for manufacturing armatures for electrical machines. The conductor (15, 16) is coated with an insulating layer (18A) which is capable of swelling and which, in the swollen stage (18A), fills all the cavities in the housing space (12) of the conductors (15, 16) and bonds the conductors (15, 16) to each other and/or to the wall (13) of the housing space (2). The armatures in electrical machines can thus be fixed in a stable and insulated manner in the grooves in the stator or rotor. This obviates the need for groove linings, groove closures and extra fasteners for the armature end connections. In addition, a better groove filling factor is obtained.</p> |
