PURPOSE:To allow the easy execution of recording and reproducing at a high density without adjusting the disposition of magnetic heads by disposing a magnetic head array arranged with plural pieces of the magnetic heads for executing recording and reproducing of respective tracks with the inclination provided in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:Since the magnetic heads 21 to 24 arrayed in one row are disposed with the inclination provided in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the tape 10, the intervals of the respective tracks recorded on the magnetic tape 10 are narrower than the intervals of the respective magnetic heads 21 to 24. As a result, the high-density recording/reproducing are possible. In addition, the magnetic head array itself is merely necessitated to be arrayed with plural pieces of the magnetic heads 21 to 24 within the range longer than the tape width. An allowance is generated in the disposition of plural pieces of the magnetic heads 21 to 24 in this way and the adjustment of the disposition of the magnetic heads 21 to 24 is possible without particularly requiring high accuracy. The easy recording and reproducing at the high density are thus possible. |
