PURPOSE:To allow the control of a grain size and grain size distribution and to obtain good productivity by coating coloring agent particles with a coloring agent coated layer having a hydrophilic functional group and coating this coating layer with a secondary coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The coloring agent particles are coated with the coloring agent coated layer of the polymer of a monomer compsn. contg. >=10wt.% monomer having the hydrophilic functional group and this coloring agent coated layer is coated with at least one layer of the secondary coating layer of the polymer of the monomer compsn. contg. <=5wt.% monomer having the hydrophilic func tional group. The colored particles obtd. in such a manner have the hydrophilic functional group and is, therefore, imparted with the easy dispersibility in an aq. medium. The resin having >=3,000 weight average mol.wt., 20 to 150 deg.C glass transition point Tg and 50 to 200 deg.C softening point is preferable as the resin of this coloring agent coated layer. The control of the grain size and grain size distribution are possible in this way and the good productivity is obtd. |
