PURPOSE:To obtain superior electrophotographic characteristics and good images and to reduce deterioration of characteristics at the time of repeated uses by incorporating the hardened product of a vinyl chloride resin having hydroxyl groups and a cross-linking agent reactive with the hydroxyl group in an undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:The undercoat layer contains the hardened product of the vinyl chloride resin having hydroxyl groups and the cross-linking agent reactive with the hydroxyl groups. The resin can be obtained by copolymerizing liquefied vinyl chloride with a polymerizable monomer having a hydroxyl group in the molecule, such as vinyl alcohol, allyl alcohol and 4-hydroxystyrene usually in an autoclave cooled in a dry ice-methanol bath by the suspension or emulsion polymerization process, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to obtain electrophotographic characteristics and superior images and to be reduced in deterioration of characteristics at the time of repeated uses. |
