Platinum derivatives and cancer treatments

Derivatives of platinum group metals, particularly platinum itself, wherein the metal is linked to one or more pharmaceutically acceptable steroid, fatty acid or other lipophilic residues aiding transport of the metal across cell membranes in the body, particularly fatty acid amine or fatty acid amide groups <IMAGE> where R is a hydrocarbon group, suitably of 10 to 30 carbon atoms. The derivatives are useful in the treatment of cancer.
