PURPOSE:To attain high speed response to a terminal side, by producing a folding serial output data of a prescribed length of one character's share, through the provision of a data folding control section. CONSTITUTION:A line interface 30 is provided a data folding control section 31. The control section 31 includes a shift clock producing circuit and a timing signal generating circuit. The control section 31 detects a start bit of a serial input data SID transferred from a terminal, adds a parity bit and a stop bit to the specified bit number of data succeeding to this bit to produce a folding serial output data BSOD for one character's share independently of the number of constitution bits of the input data SID, and the data is transferred to the terminal via an OR gate 32. |
