PURPOSE:To obtain a sensitive body having high sensitivity, hardly undergoing a change in the sensitivity and electrostatic chargeability even after repeated use and also having superior durability by forming a photosensitive layer contg. a specified azo pigment on an electrically conductive support. CONSTITUTION:When an azo pigment represented by general formula I is used as a photoconductive substance in the photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photosensitive body or as a carrier generating substance in a separated function type electrophotographic photosensitive body, the layer contg. the azo pigment has superior physical properties and the photosensitive body has superior electrophotographic characteristics such as high electric charge retentivity, sensitivity and low residual potential, hardly undergoes fatigue or deterioration even after repeated use and can exhibit stable characteristics against heat and light. In the formula I, A is a group represented by general formula II, X is an arom. or hetero ring or a substitution product thereof, each of Ar1 and Ar2 is an arom. ring or a substitution product thereof, each of R1-R3 is H, lower alkyl, phenyl, etc., each of m and n is 0 or 1 and m+n=1 or 2. |
