PURPOSE:To obtain an alumina-contg. porcelain product excellent in bending strength, etc., by finely wet-grinding the preparation raw material of alumina- contg. porcelain performing biscuit firing for the molded green ware thereafter applying specified glaze to the calcined ware and calcining it at the prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION:The preparation raw material of alumina-contg. porcelain is wet-ground more finely than 98% grain size not larger than 300mum. Then this raw material is passed through a sieve not larger than 325 mesh and slurry or body is prepared and casting is performed therefor. Calcined ware is produced by making the obtained green ware unglazed or performing biscuit firing therefor. Separately the compounding material of a glaze raw material is ground at 60-90% grain size not larger than 5mum and at 95-100% grain size not larger than 10mum and thereafter passed through the sieve not larger than 325 mesh. Such glaze is prepared that the thermal expansion coefficient after firing is regulated to value of 1-1.5X10<-6>/ deg.C(20-750 deg.C) lower than the thermal expansion coefficient of the above-mentioned calcined ware. Then a high-strength porcelain product is obtained by applying this glaze to the above-mentioned calcined ware and calcining it at 1250-1400 deg.C. |
