A polyester imitation silk yarn comprises polyester multifilament yarn in which a section of monofilament is a round shape or triangle shape. The imitation silk yarn has the denier value (D) of the multifilament yarn that can satisfy the equation (I). In (I), n is the number of different gp. of wovofilamen; m is filament strand no.; dm is fineness of monofilament; 4<=n <=2; 24<=D/dm <=96; 0.3 denier <=dm <=5 denier; 0.1 denier< (dmdm-1) < 0.375 denier. The yarn has a good luster, touch and elasticity.
