HBV-DNA SEQUENCE AND TRANS-GENIC ANIMAL

PURPOSE:To enable the expression of the whole protein of the hepatitis B virus(HBV) in an animal body by binding prescribed base pairs on the upper stream of the HBV gene DNA to the downstream of the whole DNA of HBV gene. CONSTITUTION:The SphI-BamH region of plasmid pBRHBadr4 is connected to the StuI-SphI region of plasmid 3HB-neo to give a plasmid (such as 1.2HB-BS) containing the DNA sequence in which the 621 base pair (BamHI-SphI region) in the upper stream of HBV gene DNA is bound to the downstream of the whole DNA of HBV gene (BamHI-BamHI region). The plasmid is introduced into an animal such as mouse and the animal is cultured to replicate and express the HBV-DNA in the animal body to produce virus protein such as the surface antigen of HBV and core antigen.
