PURPOSE:To expand an image by extremely simple logic, especially logic having easy hardware processing by applying a maximum value out of the density values of an objective picture element and its near-by picture elements to the objective picture element. CONSTITUTION:In the processing of four near-by picture elements, e 1 is formed when (b + d + f + h) = 1 at the time of its center picture element is e = 0, and at the time of e = 1, e 1 is formed independently of the values of (b) to (h). When the value of the converted (e) is e', e' = e + (b + d + f + h) is formed. When the concept of the maximum value is lead in, e' = Max(b, d, e, f, h) is formed. In the case of eight near-by picture elements, e' = e + (a + b + c + d + e + f + h + i) is similarly formed and e'Max(a to i) is formed. Namely, the processing of expansion can be ended only by applying the maximum value out of the center picture elements and its four near-by picture elements (in the case of eight-near-by processing, eight near-by picture elements) to the center picture element. |
