PURPOSE:To improve drive feeling by shifting from a present transmission stage down to a lower transmission stage when a condition is detected in which fuel is cut off and deceleration is within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:When a fuel cutoff detector means A detects that a fuel cutoff device B is cutting fuel supply off and a speed reduction ratio judging means C detects that an actual speed reduction ratio detected with a deceleration detector means is within a specified deceleration range, a downshift command means E causes a transmission stage to be shifted down to a lower speed transmission stage. Thus drive feeling is improved by preventing unnecessarily frequent down shifting. |
