SEALED LEAD-STORAGE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a sealed lead-storage battery having excellent discharge performance at a low cost by using granules of silica fine particles for holding an electrolyte and by sticking glass paper on the surface of a plate. CONSTITUTION:A plate group comprising a positive plate and a negative plate whose both sides are sticked with thin glass paper made of fine glass fibers and a separator having low electrical resistance is put into a container, and porous granules prepared with 10-40mum fine silica particles and a binder are filled around the plate group. The amount of sulfuric acid electrolyte necessary and enough for discharge is impregnated and held in the granules. The amount of electrolyte is increased than a retainer type battery, the specific gravity of the electrolyte is heightened than a gelled type battery, diffusion of acid is increased, and the glass paper increases the supply of electrolyte. Low rate and high rate discharge performance is increased.
