PURPOSE:To provide a detergent composition containing a polyethyleneimine copolymer, having excellent frothing power and cleaning power and giving low irritation to the skin and hair. CONSTITUTION:The objective detergent composition contains a copolymer of (A) a recurring unit of formula I (R1 is H, methyl or ethyl) and (B) a recurring unit of formula II (R2 is 4-15C alkyl, aryl or aralkyl) at a weight ratio (A/B) of 9/1-1/9 (preferably 8/2-4/6) as an active component. The molecular weight of the copolymer is preferably 500-20,000, especially 1,000-6,000. The copolymer can be produced by the ring-opening isomerization cationic polymerization of a 2-substituted-2-oxazoline. |
