PURPOSE:To simplify a process and obtain a product of good quality by feeding a raw material consisting essentially of vegetable proteins and starch and blood of animal products at constant rates, mixing, kneading, heating and compressing the resultant mixture and then extrusion forming the kneaded mixture while cooling the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Raw materials consisting essentially of vegetable proteins and starch and blood of animal products are charged into a barrel 7 of a twin-screw extruder and then conveyed while being mixed, kneaded, heated and compressed. The moisture content in mixing is preferably within the range of 12-25%. The conveyed mixture is extrusion formed while being cooled to provide a product. The afore-mentioned twin-screw extruder is provided with constant rate feeders 2 and 22 for the feeding respective raw materials into the barrel of the twin- screw extruder at constant rates and a heater for the mixed raw materials to be conveyed. A cooling die for cooling and forming the raw material mixture to be conveyed is arranged in the tip of the barrel. |
