<p>Ammonia is produced from hydrocarbonaceous feedstock by catalytic partial oxidation of the feedstock under temperature and steam conditions producing synthesis gas without free carbon; conversion of carbon monoxide in the synthesis gas to carbon dioxide by a water shift gas reaction; removal of carbon dioxide; adjustment of the hydrogen-to-nitrogen molar ratio to between 2:1 and 4:1; and reaction of hydrogen and nitrogen under ammonia-producing conditions.</p> |
