A battery-operated device is described which can easily be attached to the body of a user to reproduce electro-acoustic signals, the signals being obtained from a miniaturised broadcast device, a cassette player, a CD player or a combination of these devices and preferably being reproduced via miniature headphones. The device housing is designed as a U-bracket in such a way that different functional parts of the device are disposed in both bracket parts and are electrically connected via one bracket part. The bracket parts simultaneously perform the function of a clip so that the device can be attached to an item of clothing (e.g. waistband) of a device user.
