In order to obtain the clamping in rotation, in a single predetermined position, relative to the spindle nose of the chuck of a machine tool or similar machine, of the body of any mechanism for mechanical machining with chip removal, provided with a fixed stud with predetermined interaxial distance (such as an angled head for milling, a revolution multiplier, a multi-spindle head, an oil-supply container or a cone cleaner) and carried by means for displacing tool holders, a block 1 of irregular prismatic shape is used which is to be fixed onto the spindle nose, inscribed within its perimeter; and which is provided on its front face, which is shaped in steps, with at least three corresponding seats, 9, 10, 11, with a corresponding hole 12, the axis of which is situated at a distance from the axis of rotation of the chuck which is equal to the said interaxial distance in order to permit the one-to-one receiving and clamping of three different types of operating mechanisms during their fitting into the spindle nose of the chuck.
