PURPOSE:To prevent electrical defective conductivity by forming the surface of a developer carrier, which comes into contact with an electrode contact member, with a surface roughness of 4mum or below. CONSTITUTION:The electrode contact member 12 is engaged with a U-shaped groove 16 which is formed in the circumferential direction of the outer periphery end parts 9 of a developing roller 7, and is pressed against the bottom 17 of the groove 16 with its own elasticity. The groove 16 is easily worked with cutting-off by a molding bite. Since this cutting-off is not accompanied by the main feeding of the bite, a so-called tool mark is not generated and the groove 17 is worked to a surface roughness of 2mum. Therefore, the groove is worked to a surface roughness of 4mum or below, whereby formation of the oxidized film and defective conductivity can be easily prevented. |
