PURPOSE:To obtain a polyethylene composition for water pipe which resists to surface cleavage caused by chlorine-containing water by adding a specific antioxidant and an ultraviolet stabilizer of specific hindered amine to a polyethy lene resin. CONSTITUTION:The subject composition is composed of (A) 100 pts. wt. of a polyethylene resin, preferably a mixture thereof with a polybutene-1 resin, (B) 0.03 to 0.1 pt. wt. of 4,4'-thiobis-(3-methyl-6-tert.-butyl-phenol) and (C) 0.02 to 1 pt. wt., preferably 0.03 to 0.2 pt. wt. of poly[{6-(1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-butyl) imino-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyl} {(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) imino} hexamethylene{(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperi-dyl)-imino}], preferably in addition 0.1 to 3 pts. wt. of carbon black. |
