The object of the invention is to reduce, at less expense, co-channel, adjacent channel and inter-channel modulation interference in a radio network with mobile and stationary radio transceiver stations, each of which has an evaluator for the relevant reception quality. The intention is to dispense with the expensive central evaluation used in known radio networks. The object is achieved in a radio network of the generic type in that each radio transceiver station (10, 11) monitors reception quality on an existing radio link by means of the evaluator. If the level falls below a pre-defined lower reception quality limit, transmission power is increased automatically; if, on the other hand, a pre-defined upper reception quality limit is exceeded, transmission power is again reduced.
