<p>PURPOSE: To provide a high speed and dynamic distribution mechanism for variable length slots by constituting a triangular matrix of FF circuits and supplying an input from a port activity register(PAR) to generate the address of a switch adaptor. CONSTITUTION: After clearing all FF circuit Lij at the start of a port service cycle, a priority encoding circuit PE selects the address of a port P1 at first. Then a controller sets up a corresponding item in the PAR by the use of the address P1 to disable an input I1 to the PE. Then the PE selects a port P2 from remaining ports, sets up its corresponding item in the PAR and sets up a circuit L12 to mutually connect both the ports P1 , P2 . Then the PE selects another usable port in the same cycle and ends one service cycle connected to all ports. Consequently the high speed and dynamic distribution mechanism for variable length slots can be obtained.</p> |
