A baking device having a plurality of baking moulds 14 which are moved inside a casing 11 through the heating region of one or more gas burners is arranged in such a way that the baking moulds 14 are guided in a row, one behind the other, via a circular circumferential track 25 and to the circular circumferential track 25 there is allocated a polygonal burner arrangement 26 which is mounted below and/or above the circular circumferential track 25. The burner arrangement 26 is composed of burner tubes 28 which are designed to have a row of flame nozzles on the side facing the guideway. This means that the rows of flames are arranged on the peripheral sides of a polygon, so that, instead of a linear arrangement of the flames, an annular area of action of the desired radial width is produced on the baking moulds. <IMAGE>
