In a method and device for the determination and regulation of the pressure in pneumatically actuable devices of a pneumatic guidance system, especially in motor vehicles, in which, as a function of control commands, overpressure and or underpressure at a level measured from one of the respective pneumatically actuable devices is generated by a pump, overpressure and/or underpressure is measured and is fed to at least one pneumatically acutuable device in which valves assigned to the devices are actuated as a function of control commands and the pump is switched on and off, in order to achieve a simple and cost-effective exact determination and regulation of the pressure in pneumatically actuable devices, a first pressure is measured by a single pressure meter for each or each similar pneumatically actuable device when they are driven, before or at the instant of switching off the pump in the pneumatic guidance system, and is stored in a microcomputer, a second pressure is measured and stored at a predetermined instant after switching off the pump and a differential pressure is formed from the first and second pressures and stored, this differential pressure predetermining a measure of the first pressure to be generated by the pump.
