<p>PURPOSE:To achieve a higher measuring accuracy by determining a temperature of an optical fiber from intensity of reflected light generated from a fiber for sensors with the incidence of an optical pulse. CONSTITUTION:An optical pulse is made incident into an optical fiber 20 for sensors from a pulse light source 2 within a measuring device 10 and reflected light formed by a back scattered light generated therein is introduced into the device 10. Then, a temperature of the fiber 20 is determined from intensity of the reflected light while a position of the back scattered light is determined from a difference between incidence time of the optical pulse and an arrival time of the reflected light at the device 10 and the temperature and the position of the fiber and measured simultaneously to be stored. Then, under condition that no optical pulse enters, the same measurement and memorization are performed, thereby enabling the removal of periodic noises generated within the device 10 from a difference between both the measured values corresponding to the same measuring point.</p> |
