PURPOSE:To well remove remaining toner with a magnetic brush and use the brush for cleaning for a long period by setting the length/breadth ratio of the granular particles constituting the magnetic brush housed in a magnetic brush cleaning section to >=1.2. CONSTITUTION:The granular particles constituting a magnetic brush housed in a magnetic brush cleaning section 7 is a magnetic particles set to >=1.2 in length/breadth ratio n-A/B when the average longer diameter and the average shorter diameter are respectively represented by A and B. While the ratio is set to the >=1.2, it is not preferable that the ratio exceeds 8, because the particles become spindles having too long lengths and the scraping effect of remaining toner becomes lower. Accordingly, the ratio is set to <=8, preferably to <=5.5. Therefore, the remaining toner can easily shift to a cleaning agent and the cleaning property is improved. |
