The continuous sheet of paper coming from a reel is unrolled, duly guided, over a bed plate of the installation and it is subjected to a treatment between toothed rollers which form, on the paper, a grooving transverse to the longitudinal axis of the paper, which increases its resisting moment and produces an effective twisting and rotating of the sheet of paper on itself, imparting to it an outside-to-inside looping movement. The paper is cut into segments and total rolling-up of each loop of paper is produced when it is subjected to a vibrational and rotary movement through the action of convergent bands. Finally, the tubes are subjected to progressive compacting by means of rollers which rotate in the same direction, supporting each tube which at this time receives a radial pressure on its generatrix which gives rise to its compacting, at one or a number of posts, with additional contribution of moisture and adhesive. <IMAGE>
