PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of debugging by providing a control information inputting means, source program inputting means, line unit editing means, word fetching means, right and left shifting means and an edited result outputting means. CONSTITUTION:The control information inputting means 2 inputs control information consisting of information to control indentation and the information necessary for syntax analysis related to a program language, and the source program inputting means 3 reads in a source program from a source program file 4 by a line unit. The line unit editing means 5 performs the editing processing of an inputted line in order to correct the indentation, and the word fetching means 6 is started by the line unit editing means 5, and fetches successively a word in the line inputted by the source program inputting means 3. The right (left) shifting means 7 (8) is started by the line unit editing means 5, and shifts a part following the word fetched by the word fetching means 6 to right (left) according to the control information inputted by the control information inputting means 2, and the edited result outputting means 9 outputs the line after the editing by the line unit editing means 5. Thus, the efficiency of the debugging can be improved.
