PRODUCTION OF SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having superior dimensional stability by coating a polyester support with a coating soln. for a hydrophilic colloidal layer and drying the soln. so that water contained in the resulting layer is evaporated at a specified relative humidity. CONSTITUTION:A polyester support is coated with an aq. coating soln. for a hydrophilic colloidal layer and the soln. is dried so that <=300% water based on the dry weight of a binder in the soln. is evaporated at <=50% relative humidity. When the coating soln. contains >300% water based on the dry weight of the binder, evaporation is carried out at <=50% relative humidity in the latter stage of drying after the water content is reduced to 300%. The pref. drying temp. is 25-50 deg.C. The resulting sensitive material has improved dimensional stability.
