WASHING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GUIDE ROLLERS OF ROTARY PRESS

The rotary press is operated slowly while a printing paper is fed to the rotary press. A washing liquid is applied to the printing paper while the printing paper is travelling through-out an entire width of the partly wet printing paper. Guide rollers are in contact with the travelling printing paper on a paper discharge side of the rotary press w.r.t. a printing portion. The guide rollers are rotated at a peripheral speed different from a speed of the travelling printing paper. Contamination of the guide rollers is wiped off by the travelling printing paper.
