NONWOVEN FABRIC CONSISTING OF THERMALLY BONDED FILAMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain the title nonwoven having good spinnability and soft handle by introducing a specific conjugate fiber into an air sucker and blowing the fiber onto a porous catching vessel moving by drawing and delivery action. CONSTITUTION:A conjugate fiber (having <=5 denier single fiber) consisting of a blend structure of a straight-chain low-density polyethylene (containing 1-10wt.% octene and having 0.900-0.940g/cm<2>, 20-80g/10min melt index and >=25cal/g heat of fusion) which is a copolymer of ethylene and octene-1 and propylene (having 5-60g/10min melt flow rate) and used as a sheath component and the above-mentioned polypropylene used as a core component is melt-spun, blown through an air sucker onto a porous movable catching vessel and thermally pressed at temperature 15-30 deg.C lower than melting point of straight-chain low density polyethylene in 7-40 pressed area ratio to provide the aimed nonwoven fabric.
