PURPOSE:To make SiC whiskers, ZrO2 and Al2O3 have an especially excellent characteristic each as a cutting tool by specifying them to each specific vol%, in the ceramics cutting tool consisting of Al2O3, SiC whiskers, ZrO2. CONSTITUTION:In a ceramics cutting tool consisting of Al2O3, SiC whiskers and ZrO2, it is constituted of more than 27vol.% and less than 35vol.% of SiC whiskers, more than 3vol.% and less than 12% and the rest is Al2O3. It consists of suchlike constitution, while a manufacturing condition is precisely controlled, whereby the said ceramics are finely fractionized as small as possible within a range where Al2O3 is not subjected to grain growth. With this constitution, such a tool that is strong in tenacity and excellent in abrasion resistance is secured. |
