The invention relates to a construction element composed of individual pipes (2) and outer seals (12) for the manufacture of a chimney flue of a multilayered chimney composed of the individual pipes (2), which complement one another axially to form the chimney flue, and outer seals (12) which bridge the joints (6) between the individual pipes (2). With this construction element, the invention provides for the outer seals (12) to have flexible sealing rings (14) and supporting sleeves (16) for the latter, the clear inner cross-section of which is greater than the outer cross-section of the individual pipes (2), and for the sealing rings (14), their supporting sleeves (16) and the individual pipes (2) to be dimensioned relative to one another such that the sealing rings (14) below and above the joint (6) between successive individual pipes (2) can be clamped between the circumferential surface (18) of the latter and the supporting sleeve (16). The invention furthermore relates to applications of such a construction element.
