Preparation of paper pulp. The materials are treated in an externally heated digester 1 fitted with a screw 2 comprising blades which are inclined 3 and not inclined 4 and an airlock for entry 6 and exit 7, filled, with a coefficient of at least 0.5, with fresh materials in quantities such that the ratio of the weight of materials introduced per minute to that of the mass present in the digester is lower than 0.05 and the mass is propelled by adjusting the rate of rotation of the screw and the inclination and spacing of the blades as a function of the residence time, which can vary between 10 minutes and 2 hours depending on the nature of the material treated. <IMAGE>
