The device includes at least two pumping means 7 located in zones which are remote from one another close to the bottom 2 of the container 1. The means 7 are connected to a selector 6 which can be actuated on the basis of the trim and of the acceleration imposed on the container 1 to activate to greater or lesser extents each of the pumping means 7 in order to increase or decrease the flowrate of liquid pumped through the use of these means 7. The invention applies in particular to a fuel tank of a motor vehicle. <IMAGE>
