PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous control by employing the value of the actual acceleration detected in the control period immediately before the value is changed as the actual acceleration data used for controlling the fixed car speed running control if the value of the acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor has no change when the value of the actual acceleration based on the wheel speed is changed. CONSTITUTION:A fixed car speed control means 8 and acceleration/deceleration control means 9 and 10 controlling the fixed car speed running and the acceleration/ deceleration of a vehicle at the preset period based on the actual acceleration and the target acceleration of a vehicle detected based on the actual car speed by a car speed detecting means 5 and the target car speed and the target acceleration by a target car speed setting means 6 are provided, and a throttle valve is opened or closed via an engine output adjusting means 7 according to their outputs. An acceleration sensor detecting the longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle is provided, and the value of the actual acceleration detected in the control period immediately before the value is changed is employed as the actual acceleration data to perform the acceleration/ deceleration control if the value of the longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle has no change when the value of the actual acceleration is changed.
