PURPOSE:To reduce the scattering of a developer even when the developer is transferred at a high speed by providing a rotary roll provided internally with a magnetic field generating means in the inlet part of a mixer which mixes the toner. CONSTITUTION:The developer from the outlet 13 of a mixer 9 is fed to a magnetic brush roll 2 by a belt 15, and is applied to a photoreceptor 1. The developer which is not used for developing is fed toward the mixer 9 in parallel with the movement of the belt by the effect of the magnetic field from a magnetic brush roll 2 and receives the effect of the magnetic field of a roll 16. The developer is further fed and carried to the inlet 12 of the mixer 9 by the effect of the roll 16. The upper stream of the inlet 12 is a developer well part and while the developer is agitated therein, the developer is forced into the mixer 9. A part of the developer is carried upward together with the belt by the effect of the magnetic field of the roll 16. As the developer advances upward, the magnetic field weakens and therefore the developer drops and is prevented from being carried to the uppermost part. |
