PURPOSE:To enhance raw preservability and record preservability of a thermal recording material by providing at least one color forming unit layer each on either side of a transparent support, the color forming unit layers being capable of forming respective colors with different hues, and providing an opaque protective layer on an outermost layer on one side of the support. CONSTITUTION:An opaque magenta color forming layer 2a is provided on the back side of a transparent support 1, a transparent cyan color forming layer 3 is provided on the face side, a transparent protective layer 4 is provided on the outer side of the cyan color forming layer 3, and an opaque protective layer 5 is provided on the outer side of the magenta color forming layer 2a, thereby producing a multicolor thermal recording material. The magenta color forming layer 2a and the cyan color forming layer 3 can form respective colors under the same applied thermal energy. When an image is thermally recorded in the layers 2a and 3 from both sides by a heat pen or a thermal head, a cyan color and a magenta color can be developed independently on the opposite sides of the support 1. |
