The invention relates to a closure cap for writing instruments or the like, which has the shape of a sleeve in which a likewise sleeve-shaped sealing insert is displaceable between two stops, and wherein an air passage is to exist when the closure cap is removed from the writing instrument. The sleeve has a closure button at the insertion aperture for the writing instrument, opposite to the end face, which button is concentrically mounted by means of a plurality of webs, and a sealing insert is arranged in the sleeve to be capable of longitudinal movement and rests in a sealing manner on the closure button and on the writing instrument when the closure cap is pushed onto the writing instrument. The removable closure cap is used in writing, drawing or painting instruments and serves to cover the writing tip of a writing instrument filled with writing liquid or paste in order to prevent drying-out.
