<p>PURPOSE:To generate a dot character pattern of high quality by performing line width control over slanting lines when an expanded or reduced dot character pattern is generated. CONSTITUTION:An inflection point interpolation part 3 interpolates inflection points detected by extracting points where X coordinates and Y coordinates of adjacent inflection points are not equal by a slanting-line inflection point detection part 2. Then, a slanting-line width detection part 4 finds the line width at an inflection point where a slanting line is drawn, i.e. the X-directional distance between the contour line obtained by the inflection point interpolation part 3 and each inflection point, a slanting-line width conversion part 5 multiplies the line width of each inflection point by an expansion and reduction rate to finds the line widths after expansion and reduction, and an inflection point coordinate conversion part 6 expands and reduces the coordinate values of inflection points which constitute the slanting line. Thus, the longitudinal or lateral length of even the part of the independent slanting line is determined as the line width, so the line width of the slanting line part can be controlled. Consequently, the dot character pattern of high quality is obtained.</p> |
