PURPOSE:To obtain a tone color being similar to a natural musical instrument at a low cost by setting a memory size of waveform data to the minimum size which can contain a higher harmonic degree by which a sufficient tone quality can be obtained as an auditory sense, and also, constituting a memory size of every octave of the combination of two powers and the same size, and reading it out successively. CONSTITUTION:When the generation of a musical tone is instructed by a key- depressing operation, an instructing signal of a sound pitch and strength is outputted to a control part 4, based on a position of a depressed keyboard from an instruction input part 1, and in accordance with a waveform address corresponding to an octave shown by the instructing signal related to the sound pitch in a waveform memory part 2, waveform data is read out successively from the memory part 2, and also, by an address based on strength, envelope data is selected from a memory part 3 and read-out is started successively. According to this constitution, a memory size of the memory part 2 has a large number of sample points in one cycle period in high compass, therefore, it is set to the same size as shown by (e) and (d) in the figure, and a high frequency degree contained in (e) is set to 1/2-fold of (d). |
