A demountable hydrophone cable connector which has a pair of members adapted to be interconnected and connected one to each part of the cable to be interconnected, which cable connector comprises a hollow socket member (1), and a hollow spigot member (2) engageable in it, held together by a split detachable joining sleeve (15) to axially lockably engage the hollow socket member (1) and the hollow spigot member (2) together, the hollow socket member (1) and the hollow spigot member (2) having terminal hollow bosses (7) to engage strength terminator units (8) whereby to transmit stress between the hollow socket member (1) through the split detachable joining sleeve (15) to the hollow spigot member (2) and vice versa, sealing means (3) being positioned between the hollow socket member (1) and the hollow spigot member (2) to prevent ingress of fluids to the hollow (4) of the hollow socket member and the hollow in the hollow spigot member.
